The 2026 WTT summer season has just one more week! It has been a well-played season with some revamping due to weather and players added and left throughout the season. The original pre-season prognostication of Jason atop has held true despite Ted's best efforts. Lets take a look at some stroylines heading into the WTT Summer Championship.
1. Battle for 1st
During the dog days of summer, it looked like Jason was headed for another summer victory, but Ted had been closing fast, especially after his win at the summer's 2nd major at MWW. A less-than-stellar week last week has slowed Ted's charge, but if he finishes 1st or 2nd in this week's tournament, he can surpass Jason for the WTT summer title.
2. Placing
Hopefully Ted's focus on 1st won't distract him from the fact that David can catch him for summer runner-up. If David wins this last week he would all but assure a season long runner-up finish. Hopefully Ted watches both his front and rear this week!
3. Middle Ground
Barring a win from Ben, Justin, or Will this week they will respectively finish 4th, 5th, and 6th for the summer season. Despite the margin between Justin and Will being closer the scenarios for finish are basically the same. Justin has had a great showing for his first season in the WTT.
4. Mr. Insignificant
This is no reflection upon how we feel about James as a person but there is nothing he can do to change his current standing. He is the only golfer who can play a relaxed round this week. A double-par every hole will not even change his place in the standings.
5. New Work Both in the League and Out
In the battle for 8th Robert and Clay have the closest margin of any two spots in the standings. It is pretty much a straightforward head-to-head battle this week. While both have had similar life situations with new jobs taken this summer. We look forward to their focus on the golf course this week!
